On April 15, Vice Chief Admiral Charlie Ray of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Captain Randy Hartnett, Commander of the Coast Guard Aircraft Logistic Center at Elizabeth City, North Carolina, paid a visit to the DynCorp International (DI) team on the base.
“The visit shined a light on DI and how we have been supporting the Coast Guard during COVID-19,” said Jeff Berry, DI’s site lead at Elizabeth City after meeting with Commandant Ray.
At USCG Air Station Elizabeth City, DynCorp International provides Progressive Structural Inspections (PSI) and Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) for C-130H and C-130J aircraft at the Aircraft Logistic Center. The C-130H and C-130J aircraft are the USCG’s Long Range Surveillance (LRS) aircraft providing critical search and rescue, law enforcement, logistics, and marine environmental protection response to the United States.
While visiting with the DI team, the Command touted DI’s impressive response to COVID-19 and praised the team for the continued support of the C-130 Overhaul Production Line. Due to the corrosive environment in which USCG aircraft operate, overhauls and inspections are crucial. Captain Hartnett noted that DI’s processes and ability to continue our efforts uninterrupted enabled critical Coast Guard missions to continue.
“I’m proud of the team at Elizabeth City,” said Christine Peyton, senior program director. “They continue to strive for excellence and are keeping the momentum steady during these unprecedented circumstances.”
